Hernando Cortes By: Ethan

Hernando Cortes was born in 1485 in Medellin, Spain and died in 1547. He was the first governor of New Spain and ran from 13th of August 1521 to the 24 of December 1521. He was a Spanish conquistador who overthrew the Aztec empire and won Mexico for the crown of Spain. He also helped advance Spain in to North America. Hernando came from a lesser noble family in Spain.When he was 19 he first set sail to the New World. He was a conqueror and explorer from the renaissance time period.
