Rocket Report PACE Character Trait for November - Citizenship

AP Corner: As we make our way into second quarter I wanted to put a spotlight on Language Arts and Science. This Week is Literacy Strategies to use at home. 1. use a post-it to write down key ideas or questions as they read and stick it in the book. 2. Let your kids see you read a book, magazine, comics, or newspaper. 3. People having choice is a powerful motivator, from graphic novels to self-selected books that power of choice can motivate the most reluctant reader. 4. talk about what they are reading 5-10 minute is all it takes. 5. Reward reading. These 5 things at home can make the difference in a person's life. The act of reading activates both sides of the brain in as little as 20 minutes a day.
