#MeowMondays Felicia's Adoption Success Story

Felicia (fka Shirley) was a stray from an abandoned litter, found and cared for by a local animal lover until she was old enough to come to HSTT. Her adoption story is so precious, we'll let her mom Lisa tell it in her own words.

Felicia has been my savior, no question! I had a kitten named Teeny Tiny Tony The Tiger. He was the runt of his litter and had some major developmental problems. Sadly, Tony passed away suddenly when he was only 8 months old. My world came to a hault, it was a huge loss for me and my family. After some encouragement from my youngest son (17 at the time) and a close friend (Tara, HSTT Adoption Specialist), I decided to adopt a rescue kitten.

We originally wanted to adopt a tuxedo kitten (to match siblings Figaro and Bugsy). But then we saw Felicia, who looked at us and meowed, then went back to bating those ping pong balls around. When she stood up on her back legs, that was IT, I was taking her home. Needless to say, I promptly went online and purchased like 150 ping pong balls on amazon for her and her thankful new siblings!

Less than a month after adopting Felicia, my Mom passed away. When I came back home, Felicia came and sat with me for 2 hours, just purring and giving me love, sitting right over my heart the entire time. They say cats can heal with their purring vibrations: there is NO question in my mind that this is true. We have had an eventful year: I had surgery in April and we had to move in July. Again, Felicia has been right by my side through it all. We are all settled in a new place now and loving life. I don't know what I would do without her!
