"Don't think of organ donations as giving up part of yourself to keep a total stranger alive. It's really a total stranger giving up almost all of themselves to keep part of you alive." ~Author Unknown
Did you know an average over 1,000,000 individuals die a year while waiting on the Organ Donation list. Sick people who bodies can't even support themselves need help from people like me and you. In the event of a tragic catastrophe and you are declared brain dead, or in another low brain activity state, you can save your someones life who needs your organs more than your unresponsive body does.
If you were having heart failure and was in desperate need of a heart, but doctors say organs like hearts can take year to receive. If that was you, would you want to die waiting for a heart you never revived, or let a "vegetable" die with a organ that could have saved your life? What kind a person would you be?
I know for a fact that if something happened to me that I would want my family to give consent for my organs to be donated to save ours. Organ donation is a selfless act. Anyone can make a difference.
