Stress less & focus New Wednesday Evening Classes at Ashoka, Plymouth starting 18th april

Modern life can be busy, pressured and stressful, and we usually see the source of our stress and anxiety as being “out there” in the world at large. We may feel at times that things are beyond our control, that we are trying hard to make things better and yet we do not always succeed in achieving our wishes, hopes and dreams.

At other times, our life may seem straight forward and going to plan when suddenly things change and we are left feeling tense, nervous and worried. Even good fortune can sometimes bring added pressures and responsibilities we had not expected and despite our best efforts, they add to our woes.

But where do these feelings come from? Why do we experience these unhappy, sometimes distressing states of mind? Geshe Kelsang Gyatso has given us the the answers and the practical tools to change our negative states of mind into positive, stress-free minds which enable us to focus on what really matters

So there is a lasting way to overcome these negative stressful feelings and anxious experiences...

...with a little wisdom, and practical know-how, we can understand how our thoughts and feelings - good, bad and indifferent - shape our experiences in life.

Meditation is an effective way to deal with negative states of mind and create a sense of peace and mental freedom. Through meditation and mindfulness techniques we learn to control our mind, rather than allowing our mind to control us.

By accepting our stressful, anxious feelings rather than being panicked by them, we can learn to keep a calm, happy mind in all situations; eventually overcoming altogether the mental habits which create these feelings. At these classes, which are open to everyone, we will discover how to have a happy, stress-free, focused life.
