Campus Emergency Drills

Student safety will always remain our highest priority. We recognize the challenges of ensuring the safety of our 2,900+ students and we address the related complexities with best-practices. During the school year, students will experience fire drills, weather-related drills, and lock-down drills.

Each emergency drill is used as a learning tool for our students and employees. After each drill, procedures and times are evaluated and improvements are discussed. Fire drills emphasize orderly evacuations of classrooms and buildings, and arriving to rally points for each building. Weather-related drills show students how to safely protect themselves by quickly moving to safe interior locations in their buildings. Lock-down drills reinforce the need to follow CCS faculty/staff instructions if a situation arises and our buildings need to be secured due to interior or exterior threats.

Learn more about campus safety by reviewing the School Safety page of our website. Questions or concerns? Please send an email to our Director of Operations and School Safety Coordinator, Mr. Duffy.

Always Contact Collegium First

Have a question about something on campus? Not sure about specific details? Our school website and Carl the Cougar Facebook page will always list the most important information we need to share with all families - check those options first. Crowdsourcing information is helpful in certain circumstances, but navigating the inaccurate or incomplete information makes it an unreliable option for our families.

Do you have a specific question regarding your child or their classroom/building? Email the teacher directly or contact the building Principal. If you don't know who to contact, simply use the "Contact" option on our website.

Collegium Early Dismissals

Our first early dismissal day is Friday. The dismissal times are posted on the calendar section (above) and on the CCS Calendar. The districts do provide transportation on our early dismissal days. The districts do not send notices of the early dismissal day bus drop-off times. Families will have to calculate the appropriate PM bus time based on the amount of time it typically takes for their child to arrive home. For example, if your elementary child is typically home at 4:30pm, on an early dismissal day you can expect your child to arrive around 1:00pm.

School Picture Days

Our School Picture Day schedule is below.

  • 535 Building: Wednesday, September 7th.
  • 500 Building: Thursday, September 8th
  • 515 Building: Thursday, September 8th
  • 468/486 Buildings: Thursday, September 8th
  • 150 Building: Friday, Sept. 9th.

Order forms will be sent home with students this week. While all students will have their photos taken, only those students who have their order envelope and payment or proof of online payment will be able to purchase photos.

If a student forgets their order envelope or is absent, their photo can be re-taken on picture retake day which will be scheduled later this fall.

Students have their pictures taken in their CCS uniforms. If a student’s picture day is on their PE day...it's OK to be in the regular CCS uniform and not the PE uniform.

The class photos are not delivered with your order. As they are compilation photos, not a group photo, they are sent home later in the school year (usually in January/February) after all photos have been taken.

Pictures for the Class of 2017

There are no order forms for senior pictures prior to picture day. A variety of photos will be taken and a proof sheet and order form will be sent home with students a few weeks after picture day. Seniors will receive detailed information from their advisor, Ms. O'Neill.

Back to School Nights

Please plan to attend your child’s Back to School Night. Attending is a great way for you to learn more about your child’s teacher and the education planned for this school year.

  • 535 Building: Wednesday, August 31st, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • 515 Building: Thursday, September 1st, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Grade 3 & 500 Building: Wednesday, September 7th, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Grades K-2: Thursday, September 8th, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

On most nights, the Spanish Honor Society will be selling fresh pretzels, cold soft drinks, baked goods, and sponsoring a raffle! Be sure to bring a few dollars to support our students!

Food for Thought

Get your child’s day started with a well-balanced breakfast! Tired of scrambling each morning trying to provide your child a well-balanced meal? CCS has you covered! We offer nutritious breakfast options in all of our buildings.

Research shows that students who eat a well-balanced breakfast have improved memory, are more alert throughout the day, and can better concentrate on their studies rather than their empty bellies. Give our breakfast options a try and let us provide “fuel” for your child’s day so they don’t go to class “on empty”.

CCS Foundation Board

The CCS Foundation Board is accepting applications for Board member positions. The Foundation is looking for dedicated CCS parents/guardians or community members able to work in local communities to raise awareness of Collegium and increase partnerships with local companies and organizations. The following skills are highly desirable:

  • Fundraising and Charity Expertise
  • Superior Project Management Skills

Interested in being considered for the Board? Please email your resume and a short description of how you can help to the Foundation President and CCS parent, Chuck Kramer. Chuck can also answer any of your Foundation Board questions.

Basketball Skills Clinics

Our Boys' Basketball team is hosting a Basketball Skills Clinic for students in grades 3-8. The clinic for students in grades 3-5 will be held on Saturday, September 17th and the clinic for students in grades 6-8 will be held on Saturday, September 24th. Clinics will be held from 9am-1pm.

Athletes from the team and their coaches will be promoting the fun of the game through skill work and game action. See the permission form for program-specific details. Permission forms and payment are due by September 1st. If you have any questions, please email Mr. Harkins.

K-12 Sock Fundraiser

Our Boys' Varsity Basketball Team is pleased to announce that their sock fundraiser is back for another year!

Beginning this week, the team will sell Cougar Gear socks that can be worn as part of a student’s regular school uniform. Socks are available in hunter green, maroon, and navy blue, and feature the CCS athletics logo on the front of the sock. The design is similar to popular Nike Elite socks.

Any color may be purchased, but socks must match the uniform shirt when wearing as part of the CCS uniform.

Each pair of socks cost $15.00 and proceeds directly benefit the Boys' Varsity Basketball team. Last year, the team used collected funds for tournament fees, team shoes, and team travel suits. This year, the team is hoping to purchase new uniforms.

Ready to purchase? Please access the order form link below. Hurry - this sale ends September 9th. Questions? Please email Mr. Harkins.

Final Week of Cougar Gear Sale

On the 3rd Friday of each month, CCS students are encouraged to show their Cougar Pride by wearing CCS Cougar Gear. What’s Cougar Gear? Cougar Gear includes official CCS T-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. with our logo, usually from a CCS team, club, event, or fundraiser. Cougar Gear shirts make great presents and are loved by students, parents, and especially grandparents.

BonfireFunds now handles all aspects of purchasing Cougar Gear. Families select as many shirts as they want, specify their shipping address, and expect to receive their shirts 14 days after our sale ends on September 2, 2016.
