Thursday, October 11th- Half Day of School/ Parent Conferences

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 18TH- HALF DAY OF SCHOOL/ PARENT CONFERENCES

Walk To School Day was a huge success Wednesday. Students from JRB and Oakmont gathered on the football field with their classes. High schoolers and our elementary kids had some laughs together as they went through streets of town from Oakmont to Briggs. The sights and sounds were truly remarkable.

ASHBURNHAM WESTMINSTER FOUNDATION FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

The Foundation is looking for a parent liaison from JRB. This new position would likely participate in the following activities:

  • Receive information on events from the board via email
  • Share information through Briggs administration (newsletter, potential signage, announcements, etc)
  • Share information through Briggs PTO meetings
  • Share information through any Briggs specific social media platforms

If you are interested in this role, please reach out to Chris Wells.

This year’s A Night For Excellence to benefit the Ashburnham Westminster Foundation for Academic Excellence will be held on November 16th at 6:30 at the Colonial Hotel. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

A Note From First Student

At the beginning of the year bus stop pick-up and drop-off times are estimated using mapping programs. If you have found that your bus stop times are a little different, plan for the times that your bus most consistently arrives at and always give yourself a few minutes before that time.

New Donations Needed

Thank you to the families who donated so generously to our fifth-grade Operation Welcome Mat project. We hope you were able to join us for Ready, Set, Glow to see how the students put the items to use in our science garden and nature trail.

This month, fourth-grade students will be working on a “robot band” design challenge. Once again, we need your help to make the project successful. Please send any of the following recyclables into school with your child.

  • Tissue boxes (any size)
  • Small (no bigger than 1’ x 1’) cardboard, plastic or Styrofoam food containers (cereal boxes, granola bar boxes, vegetable trays)

We appreciate your help and support. Questions? Email Mrs. Davis at tdavis@awrsd.org.
