St. Lucy School invites you to be a part of the change during this season of giving back. Change the lives of people in our community...our city...our world.
Every Wednesday during the months of November and December, St. Lucy School will introduce a new charity drive focus for the week (running from Wednesday to Wednesday)
HOW TO PARTICIPATE: Please drop donations off at the school office at 76 Kennedy Avenue in Campbell. Call (408) 871-8023 with any questions. Please note, while each week has a highlighted charity, donations for any drive will be accepted during any week up until the specific deadline. (Deadlines listed below.)

WEEK 1: Diocese of San Jose Layette Drive for mothers and babies: 11/1

The Layette drive helps mothers in need within the Diocese of San Jose. Their newborn babies receive a layette of an approximate value of $250.
HOW TO SUPPORT: Bring any of the following donations to the school office: hand-made or new INFANT items (newborn - 6 months): disposable diapers, and wipes, undershirts, long gowns, sleep and play (one-piece), onesies and bottoms, receiving blankets, crib blankets or quilts, blanket sleepers, booties, hats.
Cash and check donations are also gratefully accepted (Make checks out to the Diocese of San Jose-Layette Fund.)

WEEK 2: St. Lucy Parish Food Drive 11/7

Give the gift of a Christmas meal. Each class is asked to bring a specific item that will be used to create a family meal, given to a local family by the St. Vincent de Paul Outreach Program.
HOW TO SUPPORT: Compliment our class efforts by bringing donations to the school office.
  • Pre K: 6 oz. box of Jell-o (large size)
  • Kindergarten: 6 oz. box of stuffing
  • First Grade: 2 lb. rice
  • Second Grade: 15 oz. canned fruit or vegetables
  • Third Grade: 4-5 lb. bag of sugar
  • Fourth Grade: 15 oz. can of canned yams/sweet potatoes
  • Fifth Grade: 12-16 oz. box of dried mashed potatoes
  • Sixth Grade: 5 lb. bag of flour
  • Seventh Grade: 18 oz. box of cake mix & 12 oz. can of frosting
  • Eighth Grade: 1 lb. bag of dried beans or 6 lb. can of hominy

WEEK 3: City of Campbell Toy Drive 11/14

Light up Christmas morning for a child here in Campbell! The Campbell Community Toy Program distributes toys to children (newborn to age 14) of low income families in the Campbell School District. Through last year's toy drive over 2,300 Christmas' were made a little brighter with the support from over 800 families. Volunteers join together to donate, gather, organize and distribute thousands of gifts each year.
HOW TO SUPPORT: Bring the following donations to the school office: new and unwrapped toy for ages newborn - age 14 (no video games or gift cards) such as; balls/sports equipment, craft supplies, family games, books, stuffed animals, age-appropriate toys.
Cash or check donations are also gratefully accepted and may be made out to the Campbell Toy Program.

WEEK 4: Lion's Club International Eyeglasses Drive 11/28

In honor of St. Lucy, the patron saint of vision and light, we are collecting prescription eyeglasses (new or used).
Every year on 12/13, The feast day of St. Lucy, we present a collection of prescription eyeglasses to the Lions Club International. They deliver glasses to regional Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers (LERCs) where volunteers clean, sort by prescription strength and package the glasses. The glasses are distributed to people in low and middle income communities.
HOW TO SUPPORT: Bring your used (or new) prescription eyeglasses to the school office.

WEEK 5: Stop by the St. Lucy Parish Giving Tree and Share the Magic of Christmas. 12/5

Purchase a gift and share the magic of Christmas.
HOW TO SUPPORT: Pull an ornament from the tree in St. Lucy church and purchase a gift for the person on the back. Drop off your gift in the Giving Tree basket in the church.
