Lung cancer affects the respiratory system, the purpose of the system is to take in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide, But when the cells grow out of control it can form a tumour and lung cancer is formed

How is it caused?

Lung cancer is mostly caused by smoking or if you are exposed to smoke you also have a risk or getting it.

How can it be treated or cured?

If it's small cell lung cancer it's usually treated with chemotherapy or radiotherapy, non-small cell lung cancer is most likely to be treated with surgery or chemotherapy.

Some of the symptoms are coughing that doesn't go away, chest pain that gets worse when you breathe, shortness of breath and feeling tired or weak
