2016: The Year of the Rookies By: Matthew sperry

It all started when the Cowboys drafted Ezekiel Elliott in the 2016 NFL Draft in April.
Then in the 4th round the Cowboys drafted quarterback, Dak Prescott.
In a preseason game, Tony Romo, the starting quarterback, got hurt. Rookie Dak Prescott was forced to take over as the starter.
The rookies became inseparable friends, taking on the league side by side from beginning to end.

It came as a surprise but... Dak and Zeke dominated the league together as rookies.

Dak Prescott broke several records, including the most pass attempts by a rookie without an interception.
Zeke had a few records of his own!

The rookies were as entertaining off the field as they were on it.

After a record breaking regular season, the Cowboys fell just short in the playoffs against the Packers.
The season ended in disappointment, but Cowboys fans are anxiously waiting for the 2017 season to find out if it's possible that the rookies can be better than they were in 2016.
