REPTILES

Reptiles prefer to live in warm, dry climates rather than wet ones. They are most numerous in areas such as deserts and semi-deserts. They are cold-blooded. The body temperature of cold-blooded animals is determined by the temperature of their environment.

They have got sharp teeth, forked tongues and scaly skin.

Most reptiles have four short legs so they can move close to the ground by crawling or slithering. Some reptiles like snakes do not have legs. They can be hervivores, carnivores or omnivores.

They breathe with their lungs but snakes only have one lung because they have a thin body. They are oviparous.

The female lays eggs, which have hard shells and then abandons them. Miguel López y Arón Ramos, 4° de Primaria.
