IN THE NAME OF LOVE

By: Martin Garrix feat. Bebe Rexha

If I told you this was only gonna hurt

If I warned you that the fire's gonna burn

Would you walk in?

Would you let me do it first?

Do it all in the name of love

Would you let me lead you even when you're blind?

In the darkness, in the middle of the night

In the silence, when there's no one by your side

Would you call in the name of love?

In the name of love

Name of love

In the name of love

Name of love

In the name of

In the name, name

In the name, name

If I told you, we could bathe in all the lights

Would you rise up, come and meet me in the sky?

Would you trust me when you're jumping from the heights?

Would you fall in the name of love?

When there's madness, when there's poison in your head

When the sadness leaves you broken in your bed

I will hold you in the depths of your despair

And it's all in the name of love

In the name of love

Name of love

In the name of love

Name of love

In the name of

In the name, name

In the name, name

I wanna testify

Scream in the holy light

You bring me back to life

And it's all in the name of love

I wanna testify

Scream in the holy light

You bring me back to life

And it's all in the name of love

In the name of love

Name of love

In the name of love

Name of love

In the name of

In the name, name

In the name, name

In the name of

In the name, name

In the name of

"Would you trust me when you're jumping from the heights?" is an imagery because the author writes about how his love would trust him or not when she is jumping from the heights. He talks about how love is comparing the two of them to trust each other.

"Would you fall in the name of love?" is a personification because love can not fall, but you can fall in love. Martin is trying to ask if that person would do things that will stay in the name of love. He doesn't want that person to disobey love.

Cold Water

By: Major Lazer

Everybody gets high sometimes, you know

What else can we do when we're feeling low?

So take a deep breath and let it go

You shouldn't be drowning on your own

And if you feel you're sinking, I will jump right over

Into cold, cold water for you

And although time may take us into different places

I will still be patient with you

And I hope you know

I won't let go

I'll be your lifeline tonight

I won't let go

I'll be your lifeline tonight

Cause we all get lost sometimes, you know?

It's how we learn and how we grow

And I wanna lay with you 'til I'm old

You shouldn't be fighting on your own

And if you feel you're sinking, I will jump right over

Into cold, cold water for you

And although time may take us into different places

I will still be patient with you

And I hope you know

I won't let go

(I won't let go, no no, no no no no)

I'll be your lifeline tonight

I won't let go

I'll be your lifeline tonight

Come on, come on

Save me from my rocking boat

I just wanna stay afloat

I'm all alone

And I hope, I hope someone's gonna take me home

Somewhere I can rest my soul

I need to know you won't let go

I won't let go

(I won't let go, no no, no no no no)

I'll be your lifeline tonight

I won't let go

I'll be your lifeline tonight

I won't let go

I won't let go

"You shouldn't be drowning on your own." is a hyperbole because the person is imaging that you can't drown by yourself from harm. The author is trying to say that you can't suffer alone nor be alone.

"If you feel you're sinking." is a metaphor because when you feel you're sinking, it shows that you feel sad inside you. Like you're going down to a part where you're not feeling it anymore.

Stay Alive Now

By: Mollina Tran

Boom! What was that noise?

Was it the glass breaking or the toys?

Wait, I think I hear something.

I think it's the animal running.

Hurry! Before it comes after us.

And save each other like we trust

one and another like it is the end

of the world. Help! Please send

an animal patrol or a police man.

So we can stay alive now and then.

"Boom!" is an onomatopoeia because it is a sound that indicates what is going on in the poem. It also shows how terrifying the story will get.

"We trust one and another like it is the end of the world." is a simile because it indicates the word "like" which is comparing trust to the end of the world. This means that we are bonding and trusting each other before the madness happens. And the end of the world is full of disaster and worry.
