Carvey Project Diego C.

Stage 1: Design

First I started in Adobe Photoshop and began with a 6x6 canvas, because that is the size of the tile.
Then with a variety of PNG images and text I achieved this image. I added color to see what it looks while it's not black and white.
I made this for the now retired NBA player Kobe Bryant. The date at the bottom is the date of his retirement and he was referred to as the Black Mamba because he was as deadly on court as the snake was in the wild.
Then I took off the lines outside to make the carving more easy to carve out with less jagged edges.

stage 2: preparation

This is what the finished carving looked like. As you can see there are no red spots like before. With my old image all the lines were red meaning they weren't going to carve out correctly.

stage 3: carving

stage 4: finished product

This is what the finished product looks like. As you can see it has no jagged edges but a bit of residue from the carve.
