Jamaica Culinary Tours

Two Sisters And a Dream

Crick Dream Team

THE DREAM

We launched the dream in 2013, and our third year found us really busy as we made great strides in fulfilling our dream of bringing Jamaican history, heritage and culture to life through its cuisine. Have you ever heard our story? Well, here's the short version……..

THE SISTERS:

Janet

Janet, Co-Owner/Tour and Creative Experience Director

"My career in international relations, cross cultural learning and diplomacy took me all over the world. And then came the moment to come back to my homeland of Jamaica where I could fuse all of my experiences and passions into creating unique tours to excite and delight the palates of foodies and lovers of history and culture".

Anne Patricia

Anne, Co-Owner/ Social Media Strategist and Consultant

"I had worked in the hospitality industry for many years before moving on to lecture at the University of the West Indies (I'm still there!) I felt the time had come to blend the theory and the practical and to join Janet in creating a one of a kind tourism experience which visitors from all over the world could enjoy!"

So we put on our thinking hats, and conceptualized "Jamaica Culinary Tours: A Taste of History". It was a perfect way to share our love of country, culture, food and fun!

Our Pretty Thinking Hats!

We were the first entrepreneurs in our family, but we boldly took the plunge and in November 2013, we launched the FALMOUTH FOOD TOUR.……..

And our guests loved it!

We promise a bellyfull of food AND a bellyful of laughter. And we deliver!

Great food accompanied by loads of fun - just a regular day on the Falmouth Food Tour!

Even our junior foodies have a blast!

The food is authentic, and so are the smiles!

Come for the food, Stay for the fun!

Guaranteed to be something for everyone!

Then in 2015, we took the plunge again, launching our second tour - "Nyam An' Guh Weh" (Eat and Leave). And in 2016 it really took off! This road trip takes our guests on a brief tour of Falmouth, followed by a scenic journey along the coastline overlooking the beautiful Caribbean Sea. We wander off the beaten track before heading to the tourism mecca of Ocho Rios.

NYAM AN' GUH WEH HIGHLIGHTS

This year we were also thrilled to host some great travel agents, travel writers, bloggers and yes - even a film crew! Thanks to the Jamaica Tourist Board and the various supporters who recommended Jamaica Culinary Tours for special visits over the course of the year.

As part of our quest to bring you the best trends in culinary tourism and keep you up to date with Jamaican food happenings, we were constantly on the go this year. Locally, some of our highlights included visiting foodie attractions, stop-ins at food festivals as well as Denbigh - the island's annual agricultural show, Calabash - the Caribbean's premier literary festival, culinary demos, food seminars, cook-offs and lots more!

Beyond our shores we happily checked off an item on our bucket list when we headed to Santa Fe, New Mexico for a week long culinary excursion. And yet another bucket list item was ticked off when we had the opportunity to spend a week in Europe where our culinary experiences in Paris and Budapest set our minds abuzz with ideas for the next step for Jamaica Culinary Tours.

All in all it's been a great year! We've seen our tour numbers grow tremendously and we're tickled pink that the 5 star reviews keep rolling in, earning us the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for the second consecutive year. But there's no way we're going to take all the credit - we couldn't have done it without a wonderful and enthusiastic team of tour guides who keep our guests entertained and edu-tained. Here's one of our tour guides sharing passionately about why her guests love the Falmouth Food Tour:

Sherillee Hemmings, Senior Tour Guide

And of course where would we be without our loyal food vendor partners who roll out fresh culinary delights for our guests, topped with charming personalities and insights into the secrets of our local cuisine and culture.

Last, but by no means least, are our valued guests whose enthusiastic responses and feedback make it all worth our while! We literally could not have done it without you, and the Jamaica Culinary Tours team looks forward to welcoming you and your friends in 2017!
