ardillas voladoras de richmond
Last season, the baseball identity in Richmond changed. It became defined by a masked hero, known for high-flying, acrobatic stunts. Like the legendary luchadors from Mexico and Latin America, the masked hero drew notoriety from his superhero image.
The Ardillas Voladoras and their heroic defender of fun are back for the 2020 season! On select Friday nights, the ballpark experience will be transformed into a place where athleticism and physicality meets performance and spectacle, more bright and vibrant like the colorful culture that inspired the team's alternative identity.
So come on out to Funnville on Friday nights throughout the summer as the Flying Squirrels transform into Las Ardillas Voladoras as a part of MiLB's Copa de la Diversión program. This fan engagement initiative aims to educate, honor, and celebrate the deeply-rooted and rich cultures of the Hispanic and Latino communities in and around Richmond.
