Network Dialogue Training
In April, the Society of the Sacred Heart hosted a workshop event at Woodlands Academy that focused on dialogue training. Network high-school student leaders and faculty/staff mentors, including our very own Olivia Andrews '20, Yvetslana Lafontant '21, Judy Scinto, Upper School Spanish teacher, and Claire Lorentzen '06, Director of Mission Engagement for the Conference of Sacred Heart Education, were invited for two days of training to equip students with the skills to navigate differences in ways that lead to greater understanding rather than conflict and division. Students learned new tools to expand their capacity to deeply and actively listen, grow in self-knowledge and self-confidence in the face of difference, and become effective, responsible global citizens who live with critical consciousness, respect, compassion, reciprocity, authenticity, and hope. Along with being trained in these essential skills of civil discourse and dialogue, students also learned how to facilitate and mediate difficult conversations in their school communities with confidence, courage and grace. The training concluded with students brainstorming ways they can bring their new skills and tools to their communities along with across the Network.
Head of School Search Update
Over the last four months, the Head of School Search Committee has worked closely with our search consultants at RG175 to identify candidates who have the necessary qualifications to serve as the next Head of School of Sacred Heart Greenwich. At this time, the Search Committee and the Board have unanimously agreed to put forward two finalist candidates for further consideration by the Board, the Advisory Committee and the entire school community. While schedules are not yet confirmed, we anticipate that these two finalists will visit Sacred Heart Greenwich sometime between November 11-22, at which time we hope you will have a chance to visit with them. We will share more information with the School community when we finalize plans for these visits.
