Abraham Lincoln MUSEUM OF CARING

Abraham Lincoln is most commonly known as the 16th president of the United States but is also known for fighting for the union and abolishing slavery nationwide in the United States of America.

Slavery was loved before the civil war had started and there were almost 4 million slaves in the United States which was 12 percent of their population.
This is the Battle of Gettysburg, which was the biggest battle in the Civil War. The battle almost had 24 thousand people who fought in it, but a majority died fighting . This battle was one of the reasons that the North side eventually won the war and abolished slavery.
During the civil war, Abraham had the idea to gather up all the slaves that had fled from their owners and set them free. In gratitude, almost 20 thousand slaves joined the north side to fight for their rights.
