When you are trying to capture a perfect landscape photo one thing you want to try to include is a main subject. Without a main subject or too many subjects your photo will be to general and not interesting. You also don't want your subject to be to distracted by a background that has too much going on. Also to create a good landscape you want to figure outlaw to include lines, patterns, and curves. Good composition is key. Ansel Adams does a perfect job of including all the key elements into his landscapes. I also like how he makes all his photos black and white so the colors don't take away from what the picture is really about.
