LITTLE'S BIG BUCKET HOOKS THE HORNS

Peyton Little's third trey of the game with 2.0 seconds left gave the Sooners a 74-70 lead in the fourth quarter. Little scored nine points in the second half against Texas.

The redshirt senior surpassed Carin Stites for seventh place in school history with 153 career 3-pointers.

Little combined with Gabbi Ortiz to score 13 of OU's 18 points in the fourth quarter. The redshirt senior now has 63 double-figure scoring games at Oklahoma.

PIERRE-LOUIS LEADS THE WAY

Junior center Vionise Pierre-Louis led all scorers with 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field. The junior has scored 20-plus points twice in the last three games.

Pierre-Louis is averaging 21.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game over the last three contests. OU is 5-1 this season when Pierre-Louis leads the Sooners in scoring.

The Lake Worth, Fla., native recorded three blocks Saturday against Texas, passing former Sooner Amanda Thompson for fourth in OU history with 123 career blocks.

ORTIZ IN CONTR0L

Gabbi Ortiz stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, five rebounds and five assists in 37 minutes of turnover-free basketball. The junior picked up a pair of key steals that led to points for the Sooners in the second half.

SENIOR LEADER

For the third consecutive game, senior guard Gioya Carter finished in double figures, recording 10 points versus the Longhorns. The senior was 3-for-5 from the floor and hit all four attempts at the free throw line.

COMPLETE PERFORMANCE

OU's win over Texas improved the Sooners' home record to 14-1 this season. OU's 14 wins at the LNC are tied for the third-most ever at home for the Sooners.

  • Saturday’s win marked the third straight season that Oklahoma has defeated an AP top-10 opponent at Lloyd Noble Center. Last season, OU topped then No. 6 Texas, 74-56, on Feb. 14, 2016.   • Chelsea Dungee set a career high with five assists against Texas in 37 minutes. Dungee also led Oklahoma in rebounding for the second straight game, finishing with seven boards in the win. The freshman also scored five points versus the Longhorns.
  • Gabbi Ortiz recorded at least 10 points, five rebounds and five assists in a single game for the fourth time this year (The Sooners are 4-0 in such games).
  • Peyton Little as 1,132 points during her career at Oklahoma and needs just 17 more to pass Mandy Wade (1,148, 1992-95) for 28th on OU’s all-time scoring chart.
