Updating building codes is a necessity that can help people know the nearest exit available in case of a fire.
Auburn University campus in Alabama has school buildings that are not up to modern fire codes.

Above is picture of an Alabama dormitory on fire caused due to negligent students and could have been avoided had updated building codes been in place.

College students deserve a safe learning environment and this starts with updating fire codes in school buildings.
