There are lots of benefits of being read to -- increases vocabulary, develops an authentic love of reading and books, and provides a model of fluent reading just to name a few! We want to continue developing our scholars' reading skills even when they're at home. We can do this by reading bedtime stories to your child! Every Thursday Mrs. Bachemin will upload staff members and/or scholars reading a book for your child to enjoy at home. Subscribe to her YouTube Channel (Micah Bachemin (TE)) so that you never miss an episode!
2019 Greater Lake Houston Heart Walk
Humble ISD is once again participating in the Greater Lake Houston Heart Walk. Our district has participated in the Heart Walk since 2013 and has been named the Top School District in the state of Texas for five consecutive years! Our Heart Walk teams raised the most money out of all school districts participating last year in Heart Walks across the state of Texas!
This fun-filled, non-competitive 5-K walk will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Generation Park, located at 250 Assay St., Houston, 77044 (near Summer Creek High School). It’s free to walk and it’s free to register. Registered walkers can collect donations, including online contributions, benefiting the American Heart Association.

When your child(ren) are absent from school, you must call the absence hotline at (281)641-2019 for each day absent, and send a note to school the day they return. If the school does not receive a phone call or note from a guardian, the absence is considered unexcused.
Parents may purchase a frozen birthday treat for their child’s class during their lunch time. Frozen treats may be purchased from the cafeteria for 75 cents each to be distributed after the children finish their lunch. Please notify the cafeteria at (281) 641-2008 one week prior to the event in order to have enough treats on hand for all interested. If parents wish to bring cupcakes to school, they may do so. However, please ensure that the treats are store bought as well as notify the teacher two days in advance so that the teacher has ample time to contact the parents of those with allergies arranging for an alternate treat. Parents may drop off the treats at the front office so that birthdays may be celebrated the final 20 minutes of the school day. As a reminder of district policy, students are not permitted to pass out party invitations at school unless every student in the class receives one.
