Gaspar Melchor de Jovellanos Quinto de Primaria

Gaspar Melchor de Jovellanos was born the 5th of January, 1744 in Gijón (Asturias) and died the 27th November, 1811.

He studied Philosophy at Oviedo University and Canon Law at Ávila and Alcalá Universities. In 1767, Charles III named him Mayor of the Audience of Sevilla.

He wrote about economy and trade and wanted to reform agriculture.

He was a member of the Real Academia de la Historia and Real Academia Española.

Also, he wanted to use Enlightenment ideas in Education.
