2016 #Bonnies Baseball
Bona opened the season with a 9-2 trip South by often displaying a strength that would stay with them all season - dominant pitching.
The Bonnies not only led the Atlantic 10 in nearly every pitching category all season, but also ranked among the nation's leaders.
With a 2.79 season ERA, the Bonnies were more than a run better than any other A-10 team and also ranked inside the national top 10.
Senior Thad Johnson set a new Bonnies record for career saves, setting the new mark by locking down a victory over George Mason in May. JOHNSON ALSO GAVE THE BONNIES THEIR MOST THRILLING MOMENT OF THE SEASON WITH A WALK-OFF GRAND SLAM TO SEND BONA TO A 6-3 WIN IN 12 INNINGS OVER CONFERENCE RIVAL LA SALLE.
Also during the series victory over George Mason, junior Dave Vaccaro had one of the best days in Bonnies recent program history. He homered twice in the game and drove in seven runs - six of which came in one inning.
