Welcome to the First Digital Marketing Analytics Competition (DMAC) at USM! This experience is like no other and can become one of the most meaningful activities of your college career. Participating in this competition can expand your career network and increase your social marketing job skills. Any majors are welcome!
Be a part of the DMAC@USM 2017
The topics are solicited in, but not necessarily limited to the following areas: digital advertising, online marketing, the integration of traditional advertising with digital platforms, marketing technology, mobile marketing, geo-targeting, social media marketing, marketing analytics, data or information fusion, and data-driven marketing. Each presentation will be limited to 15 minutes.
During the competition, student teams will invent, refine and brainstorm digital promotional ideas, develop digital marketing campaigns, run their campaigns and measure their results. (see Recommendations for DMAC@USM 2017 and Tips for Implementation and Execution). Student teams will summarize their campaigns and data, and present their results to marketing experts from local companies.
To kick off the competition, each student team will create and upload a short YouTube video (i.e., 3-minute) introducing their team. The introduction may provide the following information: team structure, skill set, related experience, unique style/culture, etc. This does not have to be over-produced. Maybe just a shot of your team in front of a laptop sketching out the big idea and a bit about why your team is well-suited to turn the idea into reality. An introduction video is due on March 17, 2017 (Email the YouTube URL to firstname.lastname@example.org).
Digital Marketing Analytics Proposal
A one-to-two page Digital Marketing Analytics Proposal is due by March 24. You may want to check out the following video to learn how to generate a digital marketing proposal.
The proposal should highlight your client’s business description and its products/services, market environment & competition, proposed digital promotional ideas, proposed digital marketing campaigns, and proposed campaigns & expected results.

Who Can Enter?
All majors are welcome! Entrants must be enrolled undergraduate or graduate students at USM as of Spring Semester, 2017. Teams must be made up of 3 – 5 people.
