Questioning

Our group created our questions by expanding on our previous questions until it either became too in depth, or hit a dead end. This led to the creation of question far beyond our expectations.

Case Studies

Our case studies were compared between two zoos; San Diego Zoo, and the Kiev zoo in Ukraine.

Our groups SWOT and Venn Diagram comparing the differences between an Exceptional and Unacceptable Zoo.

San Diego Zoo

The zoo in San Diego is a clear role model for an exceptional zoo because The San Diego Zoo has received numerous awards for its exhibits, programs, and reproduction and conservation efforts. This list includes only awards given to the Zoo specifically, not to its parent organization.

Kiev Zoo, Ukraine

The Kiev zoo is the complete opposite of San Diego, Kiev zoo is NOT a suitable role model to call an exception able zoo. Kiev zoo in its founding strived through multiple wars including WW2. Then In 1996 the zoo was admitted to the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria. However, in 2007 it was expelled and banned from the association over poor conditions and mistreatment of animals. The zoo also followed with the unexplainable death of 51 of their animals.
