Homeless Veterans Association Founded By Devan Marks, Bryan McCallister, Mimi Trinh, Krista Quinn

We want to create a stable and secure life and job for our veterans coming home without a home. We would like to cooperate and work with other organizations to help with our cause.

What is the problem:The problem is people risk their lives to serve our country and in return don’t have shelter when they come home. This mostly affects veterans with disabilities because it is harder for them to find shelter on their own. PTSD that soldiers develop can also negatively affect the way they live.

Why it should have attention: This topic should have attention because veterans play an important role to protect us. In return we should give them what they need to have a stable life again.

Our plan: The plan would be to locate the homeless veterans and take them into a shelter. Then we would help them find stable jobs to make money by collaborating with organizations. We would mainly help the veterans with disabilities because it can be harder for them depending on their condition.

In January 2015, 564,708 people were homeless on a given night in the United States. Of that number, 206,286 were people in families,

Veterans between the ages of 18 and 30 are twice as likely as adults in the general population to be homeless, and the risk of homelessness increases significantly among young veterans who are poor.

358,422 were individuals. About 15 percent of the homeless population - 83,170 - are considered "chronically homeless” individuals.

A study has been shown that the majority of Veterans have PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder) and it should be helped by a professional

Fact: Homeless Iraq and Afghanistan-more than 90% of men and 75% of women suffered from combat-related PTSD
