Texas WildFlowers

Last week we took a ride in search of bluebonnets. After leaving Houston we got on the backroads and drove on meandering roads with open vistas and rolling hills. The Texas countryside is full of ranches, cattle, horses and wildflowers at this time of the year.

Almost every ranch as a personalized entrance ranging from stone, to brick to wood.

I sure am glad this little fella was on the other side of the fence. The little guy below was on guard in the other direction

The were pockets of wildflowers everywhere, but mostly along the roads. Sometimes you come across large fields filled with flowers

And the best spot of the trip was just north of Brenham, Texas. This field was full of bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush. In all, we were gone 6 hours, but we could have kept going. We will be making anther trip in April before the flower are done for another year.
