Cleansing Guide Winterproof your skin

by Tamara

Autumn is the perfect time to repair any summer sun damage and give your skin a helping hand for the cooler weather.

So let me talk you about the latest cleansing trend you’ll need to know...the double cleanse.

Is removing the day's grime with wipes your current skincare routine? Does double cleansing sound like hard work?

What if I told you this 2-step method is a sure-fire (and cheap) way to achieving clearer, blemish free skin?

The Proof

First of all, step away from the wipes! Handy and quick they may be but they are not your skin’s friend! They can be too harsh on facial skin and more often than not just move make-up or dirt around instead of dissolving it, leaving skin dull and prone to breakouts.

Step 1

The first cleanse or pre-cleanse involves using a cleansing oil, lotion or micellar water to break down and remove any make up, SPF, dirt or bacteria and soften the skin.

Simple have introduced a new Skin Hydrating Cleansing Oil, currently on offer at Superdrug for £3.99, that’s suitable for all skin types
Superdrug do a fab Hot Cloth Cream Cleanser for £4.99 with a Muslin cloth included.

Step 2

For the second step, wash skin again with a lotion or gel cleanser to get much deeper into pores, to really deep clean and clear out any impurities. Try to massage in for at least a minute for the best results.

Clearasil have a great Rapid Action Gel Wash rrp £6.35, with spot zapping ingredients including Salicylic Acid, that works for up to 12 hours.
Nivea have a Daily Refreshing Facial Wash Gel, rrp £3.15, that cleanses and hydrates all skin types.
So for a brighter, clearer complexion in two easy steps, try out the Double Cleanse and give your skin the best chance to repair and rejuvenate in time for Winter.
