Leo IX was the Catholic Church's 151st pope. He served from February 12, 1049, until his death on April 19, 1054.

He was declared a saint by the Church, and his feast day is April 19.

Pope Leo IX was born Bruno, Graf von Egisheim und Dagsburg, on June 21, 1002.

St. Dominic, born Domingo de Guzman, was the founder of the Order of Friars Preachers

Dominic lived a severe and exemplary life preaching fervently against heresy.

Dominic continued to preach throughout the crusade.

Founder of the Franciscan Order, born at Assisi in Umbria, in 1181.

Francis enjoyed a very rich easy life growing up because of his father's wealth and the permissiveness of the times.

He was constantly happy, charming, and a born leader.
