Welcome to our Autumn newsletter, bringing you up-to-date with what’s been happening in and around the Future Group. No one can have failed to notice the nights drawing in; winter’s on its way and the department stores are no doubt well on the way to fitting out this year’s Santa’s Grotto!

Autumn is a busy time of year for us at Future Lighting. With longer periods of darkness – and the lights switched on for more of the day - this is the optimum time to consider energy saving lighting. We offer a free lighting audit to all our clients, so if your block is looking less than bright and welcoming, give us a call. We’ll be happy to drop by and offer our advice.

Also, it’s the time of year to think about timeclocks. With the clocks changing, don’t forget to adjust all the time-sensitive settings on your lighting system. Otherwise you could end up falling foul of grumpy residents, left fumbling for their keys in the dark!

Following the successful launch of our sister company Future Fire Systems on 4th September, we are delighted to welcome Managing Director Bradley Parker and Operations Manager Gemma Harding to our rapidly expanding team.

Future Fire Systems Limited has been established to meet increasing demand from property managers for a fast-response, specialist, fire and life safety systems installation and maintenance service.

Key services to be offered by Future Fire Systems include:

  • Active Fire Protection: Fire Detection & Fire Alarm Systems Design, Installation, Commissioning/Handover and Maintenance
  • Passive Fire Protection: Fire Stopping & Penetration Sealing, Fire Door Installation & Maintenance

This offer is designed to complement the services supplied by Future Lighting and tailored to meet the requirements of residential block managers. We are already receiving a high level of enquiries from existing and potential clients, so if you need advice on your emergency lighting or fire safety systems, please get in touch

Announcing our new status as ARMA Partner

Following our award of Industry Supplier of the Year 2017 at this year’s ARMA Awards in July, we are proud to announce that we have become an ARMA Partner. An ARMA Partner is a company that is not directly involved in block management but whose services are essential to managing agents. This includes commercial service providers such as accountancy firms, solicitors, insurance, management services – and of course, block lighting. Being a Partner means that we are able to get involved in ARMA events and take advantage of a wide range of marketing and networking opportunities . This gives us the chance to get out and meet ARMA members to share ideas, get feedback on our current offer and use block managers’ specialist knowledge to help develop new products and services. So look out for us at an ARMA event in the near future - we look forward to meeting you.

The Future Group is delighted to welcome Sarah Howe to our team. Sarah has more than five years’ experience in the electrical industry specialising in safety and quality control systems – and is now on board to keep us all in check!

Future Lighting has just completed a prestigious project at this desirable location, just minutes from Westminster Cathedral and a stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace Gardens. This multi-office commercial building is part of the Grosvenor Estate owned by the Duke of Westminster and houses a range of blue chip companies. The eight storey building features a 40m high atrium which has just been refurbished as part of an upgrade of the communal areas. Future Lighting was commissioned to install a stunning lighting installation designed and manufactured by Italian lighting specialist Bocci. Total cost of this statement piece was £35k and the project was completed on time and within budget.

Looking ahead…

Property Management Bootcamp

We are looking forward to partnering with building surveying consultant Earl Kendrick for this unique opportunity to talk to property managers about major works - and to explain why we are so passionate about block lighting.

The event will be held on 15 November at the Yorkshire Grey in Theobalds Road, London WC1 from 14.15-17.00.

Future Group MD Jamie Willsdon will team up with Julian Davies from Earl Kendrick to host a workshop looking at managing internal and external risk. The session will include:

  • The need for refurbishment - debunking common fears and misconceptions;
  • Planning ahead to take the pain out of maintenance;
  • LEDS: lighting up your block for less;
  • How safe is your block – emergency lighting demystified; and
  • Managing the relationships involved in a successful refurbishment project.

Property Management Awards 2017

We are all looking forward to the News on the Block Property Management Awards, to be held in November. This event is as exciting as the Oscars for the property management profession and this year the Future Group is delighted to be sponsoring the award for Major Works Contractor of the Year. We are all looking forward to checking out a glamorous new venue on London’s South Bank and are already dusting down our dinner jackets and posh frocks for what is set to be a night to remember with our friends and industry peers.
