To be an Equine Rehablilitation Therapist you will need lots of patience and be somewhat physically fit. A lot of times depending on where you work you will have to talk to the owners and communicate with them about the horse.
Some things the therapist will do are diagnose and treat the horse using muscle massage and other methods such as hydrotherapy, therapeutic ultrasound, cold compression, heat therapy, shockwave therapy, low-level laser therapy, and therapeutic exercises.
What you will need to be a therapist is a Bachelors degree in vet tech or a Doctor of physical therapy degree and you need to get your Equine Rehabilitation Therapy Certification.
You must be trustworthy with the horses and be able to be efficient with your work and make a lot of progress.
