My Dearest Friends,
Spring has arrived and with it comes a fresh start, new beginnings and the realization that the school year is quickly coming to an end.
We have one week until spring break officially begins. Spring brings a fresh start and a new hopes of better things to come.
I have enjoyed working and meeting the new volunteer teams this week especially in first and third grade.
Our first and second grade teams are truly invested into pouring out their knowledge of learning into each student.
Our fourth and fifth grade team of volunteers never cease to amaze me.
Thank you making a DIFFERENCE every week.
A very special thank-you to Mr. Mario, for stepping up to the plate in third grade on Wednesdays to Ms. Alexandra and Mr. Michael for leading devotion and virtue studies this week.
The work you all do is appreciated & NEVER goes unnoticed.
Together as a team we are Peachtree Strong!

Regular programming will resume on Monday, April 10, 2017
Just a note...... The church and offices at Peachtree will be CLOSED the Monday after Easter April 17th.
We are LOVE and Support
This week at Peachtree many of our students were saddened by the lost and death of a young friend and a neighbor in their community.
As volunteers we are asking that you be sensitive to those students and allow them to talk with you about it if they feel the need.
Children grieve in many different ways. Briana Bacorn, our Director of Counseling is available to assist you if needed and has offered the following tips.
Allow them to express their emotions freely. Let them know that it's okay to feel sad or mad.
Offer reassurance and let them know you're there if they need to talk.
Be a good listener and try not to offer reasons on why/ how the incident happened.
We can not stress enough the importance of building relationships and getting to know your students enough.
For it is times like these that we all need to lean on each other for strength, support and love.
Math All-Stars Gearing Up for Milestones
These four 4th grade students mastered their multiplication facts through 12's.
They were assessed by their classroom volunteers using multiplication flash cards.
Students had to go through them quickly and without mistakes.
Congratulations to these 4th Grade Math-Allstars!!
Thanks for sharing Leigh Ann Dolan.
LaAmistad Reminders at Peachtree
Manners Matter. Please remind the students to be quiet in the hallways when they are coming or going to the restrooms.
There are many Lenten activities taking place in the church we want to be respectful as to not disturb them during their services.
Please remember that 1st and 2nd graders should be accompanied by an adult for safety reasons at all times.

Study Skill
Review Bold Faced Words
How to incorporate the study skill:
Reading comprehension and even math assignments often times include words in bold. We use bold for emphasis, to make sure that the reader sees and takes in certain words. The words in bold are going to be vocabulary words or words of importance.
Virtue
Truthfulness
Truthfulness is being honest in your words and actions. Being true to yourself means being who and what you are, without exaggerating to impress others or trying to look like something you are not.
Thank-you for hugging and loving us each week we could not do it without you.
Have a fabulous weekend.
