Dragon Journal March 19, 2021

Return to In-Seat Learning Choice is Open! - Per Kerry Birmingham's March 12th email, the option to return in-seat for the last quarter of the 2020/2021 school year is now open in PowerSchool. Although families will have until Tuesday, March 23rd to make the selection to have their student(s) return in-person for the remainder of the school year, submitting your decision as soon as possible will help in our planning purposes. Students who choose in-seat will return in-seat on April 12th (after Spring Break and the virtual week after break).

Only families wishing to make a change in their selection have to go into Power School and indicate their choice. If you do not go in to Power School, your current selection (virtual or in-seat) will remain for the rest of the school year.

Important Information for Families Choosing In-Seat - Please be aware that families of returning students agree to abide by all health and safety measures in place in our schools, including wearing masks and submitting a daily health assessment as outlined in our Family Guidebook, which is updated regularly and includes information about health mandates, physical spacing and other procedures. (All safety regulations are developed with the Oakland County Health Department, which has approved our plan, and are subject to change as new guidance develops.)

Schroeder Detectives Solved the Case!

Fun was had by all who participated in this year's March Is Reading Month virtual family event on March 10th! The Schroeder community came together and Read Like Detectives to find the culprit who put the mustache on the dragon logo. A fun detective kit loaded with suspects, clues and detective supplies were available to all families who wanted to help solve the crime. A huge thank you to Mrs. Keegan and Mrs. Leigh for their countless hours of work and preparation to put this program together. The event was a huge success in part due to their attention to detail and commitment to foster the love of reading in our Schroeder students. Thank you to all families who participated!

The biggest thank you goes to Mr. Lovas for playing the part of "mustache mischief maker" for our M.I.R.M. crime! Mr. Lovas always goes above and beyond for our students!
