Kindergarten Kindness Quilt
Kindergartners read the book The Kindness Quilt by Nancy Elizabeth Wallace. The students then drew an act of kindness they had done for a friend or family member in the last week. The students then put their drawings together in one large Kindergarten Kindness Quilt using scrapbook paper and Washi tape.
Studying the Skeletal System
Second Graders began their science unit on the human body with a hands-on activity about the skeletal system. Students first made a model human out of only play-dough and attempted to have it stand up for at least one minute. When they discovered their humans could not stand with just play-dough, the students added a skeletal system consisting of popsicle sticks and skewers to their model human. The Second Graders observed how much longer their humans could stand with skeletons compared to the humans without skeletons.
