Mary is about 1.5 years old and is a pitbull mix who is about 50 pounds. She was saved from a high kill shelter in New Mexico before being euthanized for space (the first few pics are of her in the shelter). Before entering the shelter she was found as a stray. She is now being fostered in Cheyenne, WY.
Mary will do best with an active owner as she is relatively high energy. She has a very sweet disposition. She loves people and most other dogs. However, she needs a home without cats or other small animals. No exceptions! She is kennel trained, walks well on a leash, is eager to please, and food motivated. She is a quick learner who will make a great addition to a family.
We do not get the sense that Mary was treated very well previously in her life but her resilience and capacity to forgive has impressed everyone. She was also very underweight when first rescued but is gaining weight simply by being fed properly and deworming.
Mary is spayed, current on vaccines, dewormed, heartworm negative, and microchipped.
She will be adopted out through Happy Landings Animal Rescue. Adoption application, contract, home check, and adoption fee applies. Breed bans will be respected. Please come and meet Mary and see if she is the dog for you!
