Effects of abortion Julisa murillo

Having an abortion can affect a women's mental, emotional, and physical health. A lot of problems can be caused when having an abortion. Some women don't have any problems at all, but why risk it? A lot of women have died because of an abortion. About 290 women have died every year as a result of complications from abortion in 1960 (Kaplan). People might think that because it was in the 1960 that's why it would happen. Maybe they didn't have the equipment or technology to preform a successful abortion. In America an average of 3,315 human beings lose their life to abortions in the last couple of years (Thompson). This proves to us that it isn't about the technology or because of the equipment. People would think that now because it is 2017 less women would die because of abortion complications, but that's not the case. No matter what year it is or how advanced the technology or equipment are, there will be many women that die because of abortion complications.

Besides the fact that women have died because of abortion, there are other problems caused because of abortion. There are physical, mental, and emotional health issues that come with having an abortion "A women who suffered mental or physical distress after aborting are able to bring civil actions for the physician. It can be anytime during her life time" (Boshart). If any women ever has problems, doesn't matter if its physical, mental or emotional they will be able to sue the physician. When a women who is under a lot of stress makes a choice, it's probably not a good choice (Boshart). When a women is thinking about aborting, she should consider talking to someone about it. If the women knows the possible consequences after aborting, they might think twice about it. "We need medical professionals who are looking for their best interest and not after who much money they can make"(Boshart). A women also goes through physical issues. Some women have problems having children after having an abortion. "A 29 year old women died after visiting an abortion clinic in Montgomery suffering complications related to child birth" (Morse and Sun). Death is a big part of a physical issue a women has. There are many causes of why a women dies during an abortion. One of the causes is amniotic fluid (Morse and sun). Amniotic fluid is a clear, slightly yellowish liquid that surrounds the unborn baby (fetus) during pregnancy. It is contained in the amniotic sac. Another problem is disseminated intravascular coagulation (Morse and Sun). It is a condition affecting the blood's ability to clot and stop bleeding. Fetal abnormalities is another reason for why death happens (Morse and sun).

One of the many problems a women could have when having an abortion is mental health issues. A possibility for an adverse mental health state could be exposure to anti-abortion, including guilt (abortions). After having an abortion many women feel guilt, which later on lead to depression. This is one of the main mental health issues. "10 to 20% of women suffer from severe negative psychological complications after abortion" (The Heartless Bastards). A lot of women begin to think negative about everything, which can also lead a to depression. Emotional issues is another big problem caused when aborting. Anxiety is experienced by substantial number of women after abortion (The Heartless Bastards). For a small proportion of women, abortion triggers post-traumatic stress disorder (The Heartless Bastards). Post-traumatic stress disorder is a disorder characterized by failure to recover after experiencing or witnessing a terrifying event. Other emotional issues are bipolar disorders, depression, psychosis, and schizophrenia (The Heartless Bastards).

All of these problems are caused when aborting. Not only is that a reason for a women to not abort but because when aborting, you are killing a innocent fetus. Between 683-1,207 babies die because of abortions (Thompson). We never know who those babies could've become, maybe one of those babies could've found the cure for cancer or maybe the baby could've been a famous artist. Let's make sure and think twice before aborting.
