The options are so many.....you decide
From a Ruin to a small rural boutique hotel....at first acquintaince, there were no roof no floor....just the outer walls and some imagination of what this could be like! One of our objectives was to live in and by nature, being partly self sufficient, producing great part of our energy, own vegetable garden, animals, being respectful with nature and what it offers us, and transmit this to our three daughters (and clients if they wish) the values that we find important, without renouncing on comfort.
The choice of Ines as architect from the Institute of Permaculture was crucial. Sustainable building included passive strategies, like auto ventilating tiles on the roof, plants covering walls to avoid heating up in summer, massive stove in the winter time (hightly efficient and also used for cooking), biological depuration of residual water and reuse for watering. In the interior healthy materials that breathes: wall coatings by clay, clay floor treated with bee wax and linseed oil, and tadelakt on the bathrooms, a very exclusive application process but with nice looks and easy maintenance. Now follows to enjoy the results with you.
