February 26th 8th sunday in ordinary time (OOPS) Matthew 6: 24-34

Jesus said to his disciples: "No one can serve two masters. He will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon."

I believe the theme of this Sunday mass is how we need to put God first, even with all the craziness we all always have going on in our lives. It is clear that it is very easy to put so many things in this world first, rather than putting God first. It's something we all need to work on.

I learned from this theme and scripture readings, how important it is to keep God at the center of my life. It is hard but it is necessary.
If I were to give a reflection I would talk about all the things in a high school students life that often is put first. For example, I would talk about sports, homework, tests, clubs, and jobs. There are so many more but I would focus on the main ones. It should be reminded to high schoolers that we are put on this earth to love and serve God and love and serve others. That is the number one thing that should be focused on in our lives.
