Overland Expo Our experience
We love the huge family reunion that is Overland Expo - every year brings a wild bazaar of the latest goods and services sprinkled with happy hours with friends old and new. Bucket list trips and business partnerships spring like wild flowers from the serendipitous meetings here.
We never tire of coming here as each year brings all the latest goods, technologies and ideas to one place - the largest gathering of "Overland" travelers in the Western Hemisphere.
The newly launched Adventurist Life magazine provides real stories about real people who get out there and explore by all means possible - Ride, Paddle, Drive or Hike.
Rigs of every shape and size. Hardcore off-roader to soft-roader.
The vehicle choices for overland travel are astounding. Big or small, they all have compromises in one area or another so Overland Expo is a great place to see them before you buy an adventure rig.
The swag gets better and better every year!
And so do the vehicles on display
Land Rovers as far as the eye can see
One of the big draws to the Expo is the level of instruction available at the event. Internationally recognized instructors are on hand leading classes of all types.
The International 4 Wheel Drive Trainer's Association was on site giving instruction in recovery techniques to eager travelers headed off piste.
New gear is always a big draw and you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting something shiny that we needed.
The level of innovation here is hard to beat as are the fit and finish - Turtleback Trailers craftsmanship is top shelf.
Feature vehicles galore!
The mantra here is Get Outfitted, Get Trained, Get Inspired and Get Going - how could you not when surrounded by all this?
Long time show sponsor Adventure Trailers is always pushing the envelope. Their Habitat and custom Four Wheel Camper builds are setting the bar high.
You never know what you'll see, some rigs are so well built you could live year round in them!
One of the best things at Expo is the people. Cam from Mojoe Outfitters fed a thousand people!
Mojoe has a great YouTube channel for camp cooking recipes. We added a Mojoe Griddle to our gear for future group trips.
The American Adventurist community was there in force as always - we've been coming since 2009!
Oztent made this camp site plush - accessories from EcoXGear, Jet Boil, AeroPress and Snow Peak have changed the way we camp for the better.
We had a great event and plan to keep coming back every year - check out overlandexpo.com for more info and maybe we'll see you at our booth at Expo East in Asheville, NC this October!
