Walking Sidney Portier Bridge in Nassau, Bahamas STORY AND PHOTOGRAPHY BY ROBERT NEFF

Dec 6, 2016. Opened in 2015, the Sidney Portier Bridge is two one-way bridges that connect Nassau to Paradise Island. If you are driving there is a toll. No toll for walkers. From the Nassau Cruise Terminal to the first of the two bridges is a 2 km, 10-20 minute walk. The walk over the bridge offers vista views of Nassau, the cruise terminal, Paradise Island and Atlantis. The objective and stopping point was Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, which is in between the two spans on the Paradise Island side. The cruise terminal ferry dock is at the base of the northbound span (first bridge) and is on the west side. There is a bathroom at the base of the northbound bridge on the Paradise Island side.
