FotoATX 'Desert Voices' by Lesley Bradstreet

Lesley Bradstreet

“Desert Voices” is a collection of photography created by Lesley Bradstreet, at White Sands National Monument in New Mexico that explores the ever-changing nature of the location. These contemplative images explore the visual world, and represent the reverence and deep spiritual practices help by Bradstreet. When asked about her artistic inspiration, Bradstreet explains, “My inspiration is the world around me, and nature in particular. Photography keeps me present and aware of both the beauty and the poignancy that is this world.”

As a life-long artist, Bradstreet has engaged more deeply with her photography practice in the last ten years, developing her skills and sharing her work with the world. Bradstreet has also studied photography with a variety of teachers, both nationally and internationally.

Discovering a contemplative style of photography gave her a renewed sense of awe and reverence for the world we live in, and has become part of her spiritual practice. These images reflect the photographer’s direct experiences of being fully present in the visual world, and her response to it.
