Making Summer Count
We will soon be putting the finishing touches on another successful school year. Our end-of-year activities will include final assessments, collection of materials, distribution of yearbooks and awards, celebrations, and farewells.
The school year has a definitive end, but learning should not. There are several ways students can continue to improve their skills and grow their knowledge over summer break, including:
- Read DAILY - as little as fifteen minutes per day can make a difference
- Practice math facts
- Utilize Kahn Academy
- Enjoy family visits to the zoo, museums, etc.
- Make regular trips to Clinton-Macomb Public Library
- Engage in family dialogue
- Spend time unplugged from electronics
Goals are rarely met without a plan. Perhaps, now is a good time to decide how summer learning will be a family priority. Of course, rest and recharging should be on the summer agenda, too.
