Panhellenic Council experienced record setting retention during their Fall Formal Recruitment Process and welcomed 222 new women into their chapters.

This fall, Greek Life welcomed Jim Gulbranson into the Coordinator of Greek Life role. Jim, a native of Stuart, IA, is an alum of the University of South Dakota where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha. Prior to joining the Greek Life Office at Northwest, he earned his Masters in College Student Personnel Administration at the University of Central Missouri. In his role, Jim's primary focuses will be Interfraternity Council and Order of Omega.

Northwest Missouri State University Greek Life Office is excited to announce that we will be hosting the first ever MIAA & Friends Greek Executive Leadership Retreat on February 6 - 8, 2020.
We will welcome Greek student leaders from MIAA and neighboring institutions to participate in dialogue and collaboration to ensure a bright, safe and sustainable future for our Greek communities.
Speakers include Evelyn Piazza and Rae Ann Gruver, the mothers of Tim Piazza (Penn State) and Max Gruver (Louisiana State), respectively, who tragically lost their lives to hazing in 2017. We will also welcome Dr. Lori Hart of the Catalyst Agency and Lizz Carter Clark of College Moxie as featured keynote speakers.

Nu Gamma kicked off the school year hosting their 2nd Vision Board Party themed “First Things First.” Getting peers engaged and focused on the school year to come.
Nu Gamma Hosted their 2nd Annual All Pink Breakfast for Breast Cancer Awareness this October. The banner was signed by attendees from the breakfast with their names and motivational quotes That was then taken to the Kansas University Cancer Treatment Center.

Hosted our first Achievement Week since our reactivation where we recognized outstanding students and citizens that displayed the upmost of service, scholarship, and involvement within their community.

We are looking forward to hosting a talent hunt which provides exposure, encouragement, and financial assistance to talented young people participating in the performing arts. Winners are awarded recognition and may be given college scholarships.

PiHop was our fall philanthropy event, and all the proceeds went to the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Kansas City. We sold tickets for people to come and get all you can eat pancakes.
Date Party was decades themes, where members and their guests all dressed up from different decades.
Mallard Ball is our themed informal, when everyone wears hunting camo.
Our new members got their Big Diamond Sisters, making everyone's’ families a little bigger.
We invited our dads to come to Maryville and bowl for Dad’s Day.

Emily Haberer
Emily is a great leader academically, in our sorority, and in the community. She won the Dorothy Shaw Leadership award, and was our 2019 President. She has also received many scholarships such as, the Haines Pre Pharmacy Scholarship, the Doug & Lisa Foster Scholarship, and the Homer Lemar Jr. Scholarship. Outside of Greek life she is involved in Order of Omega, SAACS, Gamma Sigma Epsilon, symphonic band, Bearcat Marching Band (section leader for flutes), and she works at HyVee as a Pharmacy Tech. She will be attending pharmacy school next fall, and we cannot see all that she will accomplish.

Started the year off by inviting 43 new lovely ladies into our chapter. Our bid day theme was NASCAR with a slogan of “Winning Races Since 1901.”
Brooke Dougherty and Taylor Dorrel came up with the amazing idea to sell puppy chow to raise money for Matt Mason. He was a Navy seal who was killed in combat. Before he became a seal he went to Northwest and married an Alpha Sigma Alpha from Northwest. We raised around $670 for him!
We traveled to Kansas City again to attend Girls on the Run
Our newly elected social chairs Bailee Urban and Brooklyn Nordhues planned our informal in late November which was held at the Legion in Maryville. The theme was “Welcome to Fabulous Maryville.” We dressed out in our Vegas clothes and hit the town.
At our Founder’s Day brunch, we welcomed about six alumni back to celebrate and reflect on the past year. The men of Pi Kappa Alpha also attended with flowers and congratulated us on our successful semester.

Over Thanksgiving break, a group of sisters went to Kansas City to participate in a service event with the organization Sleep in Heavenly Peace. They spent part of their break delivering and building beds for 20 kids
Thanks to our alumni, we were able to renovate our chapter room with new furniture and features for our members to enjoy!

During celebrate Agriculture week, co-hosted annual canned food drive with the rest of the agriculture department, raised over 3,000 pounds of canned food for the ministry center!
Last semester we were able to take first place in the Greek Challenge that the bowling alley put on!
After that, our executive board will be traveling to St. Louis for our leadership conference with Sigma Alpha.
During spring break, we will be having our annual Green and Gold Classic Steer Show in Chillicothe, Missouri.
Planning to send our barbecue team to Alpha Gamma Rho’s National Barbecue Competition where we placed top-10 overall and took 3rd place in the chicken category last year!

Graduated with Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Northwest in 1999.
After college, he managed and improved several Red Lobsters until 2006.
He started his real estate career in 2006 during the middle of the recession.
Last summer, he played a realtor on HGTV's House Hunters Family.
Consistently in the top 1% of all realtors in Nebraska for number of homes sold annually
Lives in Papillion, NE with his wife, and three children, living his best life.

Won the homecoming recycling contest, with over 1300 lbs of recycling turned in that week. Dedicated a tree for winning the contest
Held the most philanthropy events we have had in recent years, raising money for Breast Cancer Research, Red Cross, Alzheimer's Research, and the Children's Hospital.

Byron began his career in 1994 at Union Pacific after receiving bachelor degrees in Marketing & Business Management from Northwest Missouri State University. His first Union Pacific Railroad assignment was in the Market Development & Sales Center where he was an Account Representative in the Metals, Minerals, Forest and Automotive Groups
Byron was the 2019 President of Union Pacific’s Black Employee Network (BEN). The mission of BEN is to work with senior leadership to retain and advance diversity with a key focus on the careers of black employees within Union Pacific.
